Trial Sessions/Open Days
PCYM Open Days or trial sessions are a great chance to find out more about the centre, see the facilities and experience what a Saturday is like at PCYM.
Come for the whole day and try an instrumental ensemble, musicianship class, singing group and watch a performance or pop in at any time to ask questions and meet the staff.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to arrange a trial session or attend an open day.
for the majority of young musicians joining PCYM there is no need to audition. To ensure we timetable students into the most appropriate sessions for their current level of achievement and to help establish students commitment and passion for music, we ask that their instrumental/singing teacher completes a reference form before joining PCYM.
Beginners need not do this but will be monitored by their new teacher at PCYM.
Occasionally prospective young musicians may be unable to get a reference from their instrumental/singing teacher or may have had a gap in their learning. To help us establish these students current level of achievement, we would ask them to take part in a short, informal audition with the centre manager and an instrument specialist before starting at PCYM.
Students wishing to apply for the Leverhulme bursary (non means tested) will need to audition to be considered to receive this award.
