Simon started playing at Primary School, learning Trumpet, Piano and Recorder and was selected as a child to attend the Royal College of Music. He played orchestral trumpet for a number of years followed by a semi-professional band playing clubs in northern England during his Masters degree from Cranfield Business School.
He has recently played in 3 local contesting brass bands and currently principal cornet in another local brass band as well as playing trumpet in the Peterborough City Symphony Orchestra and a local Big Band playing jazz and swing at venues around the area.
He has been teaching since he retired retired from his previous career in 2018. He has been teaching in local Primary schools as a peripatetic music teacher in between games of golf and long motorcycle trips. Simon originally volunteered with PCYM while his own child attended and now teaches brass, recorder and piano.
