I Studied Saxophone and oboe at Birmingham School of Music (now conservatoire)

I have freelanced on sax and oboe in various styles of ensemble over many years.

I was founder baritone sax player in sax quartet ‘Saxtet’ in 1984. This was followed by involvement in two other new quartets in the late 80s and early 90s.

I studied baritone saxophone at Berklee College of Music in Boston Mass 1989-1990

In the 1900s I worked on and taught saxophones, oboe and recorder. Playing was largely in the Christian music scene at this time- involving national conferences and recording sessions and an appearance with Cliff Richard on BBC Songs of Praise.

I also toured with Rufus Thomas in 1995 Blues Thang tour, on tenor saxophone.

I am thoroughly enjoying the senior reeds ensemble at PCYM, and particularly love arranging for the group. We have used some brand new arrangements and some that I have tweaked from arrangements I first worked with 20 (and more) years ago.

I also teach at Thomas Deacon Academy and Paston Ridings Primary School.
