Natasha Ali BA (Hons) Music, PTC EPTA UK

From the age of 13, I studied classical piano, harpsichord and violin at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London. I graduated with a Music Degree from Leeds College of Music where I studied classical piano with Julian Cima and jazz piano with Nikki Iles.

I am a music teacher, performer, and composer. I have worked as a freelance teacher and in schools and various other educational establishments in the UK for 16 years, and worked as Head of Music at an international school in Singapore for 2 years. I successfully completed the Piano Teacher’s Course at The Purcell School of Music in London with EPTA UK.

As well as teaching I have performed professionally in the UK, and have had musical residencies in The Middle East and Asia. In 2010 I performed for HRH The Prince of Malaysia at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Delhi, India.

I write my own music and love teaching and playing the piano. I enjoy working at the PCYM as it is lovely to see children from a wide range of backgrounds playing and performing together. The atmosphere is always very friendly and encouraging.

In recent years I have attended various summer schools. These include The International Kodaly Summer Academy at the Liszt Conservatoire/ Kodaly Institute in Hungary, International Kodaly Summer Schools in the UK and The International Piano Summer School at Chetham’s in Manchester.
